How do I add the Trifecta Matrix to the Data Window as a selection? I follow instructions for exoctics exports but selection is not showing up.

Important Note: In order to make this work, before you can export data from your StarterHistory Table to the ExoticsExport1 table in a copy of the JCapperSDK .mdb file, you must be operating JCapper in SQL Mode and running your build database routines in modes 3, 4, or 5.

None of what I am about to post below will work if you are operating JCapper in text or playlist file mode and running your build database routines in modes 1 or 2.

And of course none of this will work if you are not running build database routines at all.

That said, here a link to the JCX File Exports Module Help Doc Help Doc - here:
http://www.jcapper.com/helpDocs/JCXFileExportModule.html

Screenshot, Table of Contents from the Help Doc:

JCX Exports Table of Contents

Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10 contain Basic Operating Instructions that need to be followed to get to the point where you can break Data Window query results out by Trifecta Matrices.

There really aren't any shortcuts.

--Hint: Read each section first in order to get the necessary background info.

Bullet points for each section:

• Start by making a copy of the c:\JCapperExe\JCapperSDK file.

--Hint: Always export data to a copy of the c:\JCapperExe\JCapperSDK file. (Not the original.)

• 8a. Bring up the JCX File Exports Module and connect it to (the copy of) the c:\JCapperExe\JCapperSDK file where you want the exported data written to.

• 8b. Launch the Exotics Export Tool from the JCX File Exports Module MENU.

• 8C. On the Exotics Export Tool: Key parameters for your export such as Base Wager Amt, Wager Type, Top Line Power Rating, Chart Races SQL Expression, and StarterHistory SQL Expression, etc. Then check the boxes for Export Table name, and either Clear First or Append.

--Hint: The help doc contains links to example sql expressions you can copy and paste into the Exotics Export Tool. The help doc also contains screenshots of what the Exotics Export Tool should look like as you perform each step along the way.

After keying the parameters for your export (and double checking your work) click the Create Export button to run the export.

After running the export:

• 9. or 10.1. Bring up the SQL Data Window and connect it to (the copy of) the c:\JCapperExe\JCapperSDK file where you exported data to.

• 10.2. Open up the Data Window Factors Drop Down - and select an Exotics Ticket Structure Matrix (in this case Trifecta) that matches the most recent ExoticsExport1 or ExoticsExport2 Export(s) in the connected to JCapperSDK .mdb File.

Note: the Data Window was programmed to display Trifecta matrices starting with Build 198 in 2016.

The Data Window in older versions of JCapper (such as the free publicly available version of JCapper Silver published in 2013) is not programmed to display trifecta matrices.

If you are an HDW data subscriber using a 2013 version of JCapper Silver:

Shoot me an email and I'll get you access to a current 2020 version of JCapper Silver.

• 10.3 Launch the SQL Expression Tool.

--Hint: The help doc contains links to example sql expressions you can copy and paste into the SQL Expression Tool.

Hope I managed to type most of that out in a way that makes sense,

-jp
